All information files in Career Kokua have been reviewed and updated for 2009. The Occupations in Career Kokua were also updated to align with the latest O*NET data (Version 13.0). You'll want to explore the newest occupations in Career Kokua which are listed below by cluster:

Architecture and Construction

Energy Auditors - evaluate energy use patterns in both homes and commercial buildings, and recommend ways buildings can use less energy.

Health Science

Allergists - (also called Immunologists) are doctors who treat allergies, asthma, and diseases of the immune system.
Dermatologists - are doctors who treat conditions and diseases of the skin, hair, and nails.
Exercise Physiologists - use physical activity to treat people who are ill. They also help healthy people improve or maintain their fitness or performance.
MRI Technologists use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to take pictures of the interior of the body.
Radiologists - are doctors who interpret x-rays and other medical images.

Other changes to the 2009 Career Kokua Information files are

  • Hawaii Pacific University is now offering a professional certificate in Insurance.
  • New York Technical Institute was deleted from the Local Schools file because it closed.
  • Textile and Apparel Manufacturing was deleted from the Industries file because most work and production in this industry is now being done overseas.
  • Due to budget cuts, no books were printed this year. Books will be available on the Career Kokua web site and can be downloaded for a small fee.
