Education and Training

Career Kokua's Education and Training channel consists of the following modules which provide information about

  • local programs of study and training
  • a wide range of licensed, accredited, or government-approved schools and training agencies in Hawaii
  • colleges and universities in the U.S.
  • Kumu A'o, the Hawaii Consumer Report Card System, the state's list of WIA eligible training providers.

Programs of Study and Training

Provides information on over 140 general types of programs and about 800 specific programs offered at postsecondary schools and training institutions in Hawaii. Included in each program's profile are a general description of the program and course work, program length, related occupations and programs, and the specific degree and certificate programs offered at schools in Hawaii.

Local Schools

Describes over 90 licensed and accredited public and private colleges and universities, community colleges, and private vocational schools in Hawaii. Information on each school includes tuition, enrollment, deadlines, admission requirements, housing, financial aid, and services available to students.

CollegeQuest

Provides ways for searching for colleges and information on over 3,800 two-year and four-year colleges and universities in the United States.

Kumu A'o

The Hawaii Consumer Report Card System which provides information on WIA training. The information is provided to help you make informed decisions about training providers and training programs.

Testing & Education Reference Center

Links to free academic and civil service practice tests, on-line books, and study materials available through the Hawaii State Library System. Access to the practice tests and on-line books require your Hawaii State Library system card id number. Whether you’re headed for college or starting a new career, these resources can help you to improve your test scores.

Washington Educational Programs

Links directly to a module containing educational programs available in Washington State and some in the Portland area. Developed and maintained by the Washington Career Information System.

Washington Schools

Links directly to a module containing almost all of the accredited postsecondary schools in Washington State and some in the Portland area. Proprietary schools are also included. Developed and maintained by the Washington Career Information System, the information on each school includes tuition and fees, admission requirements, financial aid available, programs offered, who to contact for more information and more.
