Career Assessments

Career Kokua provides access strategies or career assessments which are structured search processes. Using any of Career Kokua's assessments will help you find occupations that match the criteria you feel are important to you.

Career Kokua's access strategies also provide provide practice in decision-making by demonstrating the consequences of your choices and decisions in the world of work. You can always change your answers to get new lists of occupations and career options to explore.

The activities in this module will match personality types to occupations.

Skills

A skills analysis process that will help you identify your skills and find the occupations that use your skills. The Skills Inventory will help you, Identify skills you used in past experiences, Evaluate the skills you enjoy using and want to use in future employment and Link your past experiences to relevant occupational choices.

O*NET Interest Profiler

A self-directed assessment that can help you learn information about yourself when exploring careers. The O*NET Interest Profiler is composed of 180 items describing work activities that represent a wide variety of occupations as well as a broad range of training levels.Going through the items will help you identify your work-related interests.

O*NET Work Importance Locator

The Work Importance Locator can help you learn more about your work values and can help you decide what is important to you in a job. It does this by asking you to rank different aspects of work that represent six important work values. Knowing your work values can help you decide what kinds of jobs and careers you might want to explore.

ASVAB

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a multi-aptitude test which is given at over 14,000 schools nationwide, and maintained by the Department of Defense. The test is used to determine whether you're qualified to enlist in the U.S. military. Your scores in the areas of the ASVAB determine how qualified you are for certain military specialties. Use this practice test if you are serious about a military career.
